
A multiple award-winning producer, writer and director for film, television and theatre, Teong Hin co-wrote and directed, "Puteri Gunung Ledang"; the first Malaysian film invited to the Venice International Film Festival, and submitted for Academy Awards.
Given his wide-ranging interests, he went from historical epic to romantic comedy, musical, sports and political films as well as the first Penang Hokkien feature film, "You Mean The World To Me".
For theatre, Teong Hin co-wrote the book for "Puteri Gunung Ledang – The Musical". He staged site-specific shows for George Town Festival: "Emily of Emerald Hill", "Silat" and "You Mean The World To Me". And the musical, “Chow Kit Road! Chow Kit Road!”, at the Istana Budaya,.
Teong Hin directed limited series "Tangkal Besi" and the web series “Inikah Cinta” and produced "Tastemakers".
He was the creative director for the 29th SEA Games & 9th ASEAN Para Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

Teong Hin founded Real Films to produce socially-conscious films of discernible quality.
Real Films has produced four feature films: “Hoore! Hoore!”, “You Mean The World To Me”, “Laknat” and “Rasa Sayang”.
Real Films also produced the “You Mean The World To Me“ play the film is based on.
Real Films provided production support in Malaysia for Oscar-winner Ang Lee’s “Lust: Caution”.
“Rasa Sayang” is in post-production.

Early Years
Born in Penang, Teong Hin read Double Physics and Math at the National University of Singapore, but did not graduate.
He then came to Kuala Lumpur where he joined a film production house, producing major television commercials. He then moved to an international advertising agency as Head of Production. After which he set up and ran a post-production facility.
He then co-founded a production company for television commercials and programmes, with a design arm, in both Malaysia and Singapore.
From producing, he switched to directing television commercials and music videos. After a stint at New York University, he founded Real Films and went into feature films
